Proper Etiquette During Bridal Appointments

Photography by Tori Dawn Photography

Southern California based photographer.

As your appointment is approaching you maybe be wondering to yourself “what is proper etiquette for my bridal appointment?”

Our proper etiquette guide is pretty standard to all bridal shops and most appointments.

Let’s begin with, always make an appointment. Almost all bridal shops are appointment based only. And most bridal shops are only open certain days a week.

Come prepared with pictures! Our stylists love seeing pictures of what you are looking for!

Arrive on time! We ask that you arrive on time, most of the time we have other appointments during the day, and we want you to have a full and great experience. Getting in and out of wedding dress is way more time consuming than you may think and we want you to soak in the enjoyment of searching for your gown.

We politely ask you to refrain from pulling gowns yourself and your bridal party. All our gowns on the floor can potentially be another bride’s gown and we must handle all of them with care. If there’s a specific dress or style you want to try on, let your stylist know. Your stylist is there for you to have the best experience possible and meet all your needs.

Handle all the dresses with care, all of our gowns on the floor are waiting for a home! Your stylist will assist you in and out of gowns, that way the gowns can remain in the best condition possible.

Wear appropriate undergarments you would not feel embarrassed to be seen in. Our stylists will be in the changing room with you, assisting you in and out of gowns. It is also important to wear the correct undergarments as it can change the way a gown fits you!

If there’s a gown you love from a different shop, communicate that to your stylists! It is important for stylists so we can tailor the appointment to your needs a little better!

Voice your opinion politely. Remember your appointment is all about YOU finding your dream dress! If at any point in the appointment there’s a gown you do not like, remember it’s okay to say “no.” Moving on to a different gown will help us be one step closer to finding your dream dress! Maybe there’s a part of the dress you are not super fond of, but you love everything else? Voice your concern and your stylist can potentially find a resolution for you. It’s important to be honest and communicate so you and your stylist can be on the same page.

Remember your time slot! It is important to us to stay on time because another appointment may be coming in right after you. We want to respect everyone’s time as much as possible.

Last but not least, HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THIS MOMENT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE! Who knows you might find your dream dress with us!
